Bharat-NCAP: Setting Stringent Safety Standards

India has ushered in a new era of car safety with the introduction of the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP), a dedicated initiative to elevate the safety standards of vehicles in the country. Launched in August 2023, Bharat NCAP follows rigorous testing protocols aligned with international standards and evaluates cars based on adult and child occupant protection in various crash scenarios.

The significance of Bharat NCAP lies in addressing India’s alarming road accident rates, where over 1.5 lakh fatalities occur annually. The program serves as a catalyst for change, aiming to incentivize car manufacturers to enhance safety features in their vehicles, ultimately reducing accidents and saving lives on the road.

Safari and Harrier: Pioneers in Safety Performance

Built on the robust OMEGARC architecture derived from Land Rover’s D8 platform, the Safari and Harrier SUVs have not only secured the coveted 5-star Bharat-NCAP rating but also attained the highest 5-star GNCAP rating. This places them at the forefront of safety performance, solidifying Tata Motors’ reputation for delivering vehicles with top-tier safety features.
